Wyrm Tamer

another Elven Legend. although this one is much more recent. he actually lived in Rojjen village. the story that made him a legend ended just three months before Nadroj and his brother were born.
the story: wyrms are small dragon-esque creatures. they used to come into the village and steal meat, burn gardens, and just generally be a nuisance. Lyren was 10 at the time. he was guarding his family's garden that night, and one came into the yard and clawed him when he tried to scare it off. he had it pinned under his hand, ready to throw it out, when it blasted a jet of flame into his right eye. it escaped, and he had to re-learn how to walk, climb, and fight. he completely lost his right eye.( the skin grew back over his empty socket) when he was twelve, he went looking for the flock. some feared he wanted revenge on the wyrms for his lost eye. all the next month, there were no attacks. they worried that Lyren might have killed the whole flock. at the end of the month, he returned, with a wyrm sitting on his shoulder. he had tamed all of them, and the village never had a problem with the creatures again.

Nadroj was told this story by one of the palace servants, who actually had a pet wyrm. Lyren was kind of his role-model. several years later, the two actually met, and shared stories. they're quite similar really.
